NWTU Scholarship

The Northwestern Chapter of Trout Unlimited was pleased to present Newton-Conover Middle School 7th Grader Tommy Johnston the 2005 Chic Robinson Memorial Scholarship to attend Trout Unlimited's Rivercourse Summer Camp. Tommy's essay on conservation was judged best among several entries to win this privlage. Below is Robert Pierce, president of NWTU presenting the award to Tommy. Congratulations Tommy, from everyone at Trout Unlimited!

Work Day at Stone Mountain

A work day organized by the Blue Ridge Chapter of TU out of Winston Salem to help restore flow and bank stabilization in Stone Mountain State Park just north of Elkin, NC was a great Success. Thanks to all the Volunteers you showed up to battle the work!

NWTU Helps at Boyscout Conclave

On Saturday April 16th, five TU chapters sent volunteers to the Order of the Arrow Conclave at Raven Knob Boy Scout Camp. North Carolina Chapters of TU included Rocky River Chapter of Charlotte, NC - Triangle Chapter of Raliegh, NC - Northwest Chapter of Hickory, NC - Table Rock Chapter of Morganton, NC and the event was organized by the Blue Ridge Chapter of Winston Salem, NC. The TU volunteers taught Fly Tying, Casting and Conservation to alot of great yound gentlemen. This is a great oppurtunity to get the younger crowd interested in fly fishing today. Everyone had a great time. Thanks TU Volunteers!
